"So, how small can you make a tank before it looks ridiculous?" A question I spotted at Malaveldt's gallery [link] (He's got awesome stuffs~ Go check him out and buy his book!! And buy me one too LOL!)

Well, I thought this might be something cool to pull off, since I rarely think of light tanks and such (Always with the 300 tonne automatons and 4 storey tall tanks with 10 turrets and such~ Apparently size DOES speak volumes in my books~) Took me awhile to find a way to squash the human body small enough to make a really small tank with a decent amount of armour~

Sadly, I have no access to a proper scanner or photoshop, so this'll have to do for now... I will clean it up and rescan it once I have the proper equipment~ So, on to the theoretical stats of this tiny thang!

Basically, it has a 2.5 litre straight 4 turbocharged diesel engine to run it, a 152mm low-velocity gun (until I find a ruler around here, I'll stick to this~ ^_^) and weighs approximately 2.6 tonnes and is mostly constructed out of aluminium to make it paradrop worthy~ It has a top speed of 60 kph and the driver's cabin is about 1/3 that of a go-kart. Theres a little sketch of the drivers compartment as well as the mechanisme for moving the gun off so the driver can enter/ exit the vehicle.

It's a relatively light vehicle, but it's usually dropped with a crate of add-on armour and reactive plates which the driver would quickly add on to increase the little tankettes survivability (some reactive plates are already attached on the frontal glacis plate of the tankette~) I shall dub this little bugger the "Crampwell" tankette, because... well, just think of squatting in the blighter for hours on end~ You will cramp quite well, I think~ XD

All in all, I had fun doing this~ Thanks for the idea, Malaveldt! You rawk!

That's looking good..an interesting concept. Can't wait to see the finished and photoshoped version!

That's an interesting concept. However, isn't an 152mm gun a bit large for something this size? Ammo supplies could be slightly troublesome, I think. Other than that, an excellent idea! This even trumps the Goliath Tank in mini-awesomeness.

Hell no H2O!

That's an awesome concept.

2.5L Diesel Turbo...for some reason I think S15 in me head altho tis a 2.0L rite?

But I dunno. Knowing you plus the engine spec, it gave me the impression of an S15.

And speaking of which, good news for you. S15s are roaming the streets. I've just had my share of bout 4 different S15s on the road. Different spoilers on each of em. 2 white and 2 metallic silvers.

Your car's getting popular I reckon. =D

Dang...I wish I was loaded for a new car... T_T

Tell me...

What can the eyes see?

Now tell me, what do the eyes of thought see? Awaken them, open them, and see pass the veil that shrouds the mortal eye.

Ok, guess that that's excellent for my height (170 cm - in Doc Martens boots XD) But, wouldn't that gun turn the whole tankette on it's butt/side when fired, altought it is low-velocity?

Haha, thanks Siman~ I'll clean it up and possibly colour it as soon as I can~

Yeah, a 152mm is really too much for a tank this small and light~ But it was all in the spirit of contrast (small tank, BIG GUN!) LOL!!

In all seriousness, I would arm this tank with a 76mm or 122mm recoiless rifle (something that would look at home on a jeep~) That would give it a bit of a punch, without toppling it over lol!~
:iconsanity-x:
Haha, a 2.5 diesel turbo sounds a little too much for an S-15, eh? It's more of a miniature Skyline engine, minus 2 cylinders~ (Besides, an S-15 comes with a 2.0 gasoline turbo~) Think of an oversized go-kart engine, and you might get the picture XD

And whee, S-15 are teh sexayyy!! Saw a few myself around these parts, but the Subaru Impreza is really the most popular street car around here, next to the Holdens~ Oh, and tonnes of S2000's running about these parts, mostly stock exterior though~ Thought you'd like that snippet of info ^_^
:iconsanity-x:
Hahaha, yeah~ That gun would topple the tank big time every time it fires~

The reason why I kept it at a low velocity is because I could not give it a magazine large enough to hold high-velocity shells (a 152mm high-velocity would be helluva long, period~) And because it's a one man tank, a breech-loader or even howitzers are out of the question~
:iconklocx:
Yeah. Recoilless! Wait. Why is there no coaxial machine gun? Ah, nevermind. 'Tis perfect as is.
