Time Adventure

Heya, it's been a while. 
Just refreshing this journal, because it was getting a bit stale and rather confusing.
I didn't really think of anything more to say than that, so... hmm... Oh! Do any of you watch Adventure Time? How did you feel about it finally wrapping up after 8 years of weirdly wonderful adventures?
Everything beyond this line is my thoughts about the end of Adventure Time, so it's gonna get pretty tldr, probably. Also, I may cross into some spoiler territory, so please tread carefully ^_^"

I don't remember how I began watching this show, as peculiar and as abstract as it was. I don't think any of my IRL friends really got into the show, so it was sad I could never share my love for the show with anyone directly. I loved how this show just did whatever it wanted, introducing really high concept stuff like philosophy, existentialism, morality, mortality, theology, myth; and then proceeding to flop back into really banal stuff like jobs, breakfast, movies, and all the kinds of mundane shit we do every day. Add a cast of characters that are fun and wacky, yet deep and interesting, and you have the makings of a pretty fun show.
As it was, Adventure Time was like a good friend that came around every so often, with interesting and fun stories to share. Even as irregular as it was, hearing that Adventure Time was in town always made my day.
When I heard it was heading into it's finale, I thought "Well, it's been a wild 10 seasons. Thanks Pendleton Ward, for the amazing ride." I sat through 44 minutes of the finale, and thought it was pretty clever how they wrapped everything up, tying up some loose ends and pretty much just settling the rest of it down gently. It was one of the better endings for a series I'd seen in a while.
After sleeping on it, it finally hit me. The finality of it all, the fact there was not going to be another new episode of Adventure Time. It's like that good friend that came around every so often, came around one day and said he was going away and never coming back. You still enjoy a final evening of merriment together, and wave him goodbye as he leaves into the sunset. It's only when he disappears into the horizon that it really hits you. It's over, isn't it?
There's a pit in my gut that I'll have to nurse with sweets and false promises that something else will fill this gap in my soul. I swear, if Steven Universe kicks me in the feels like this, I swear I'll... Ah who am I kidding, Sugar is going to kill me in more ways than one.
Peace out, friends. I'll leave you with a song which wraps up my feelings for the finale of Adventure Time. Which ironically is a song featured in the finale. Goddamit Sugar, curse thy lyrical muse!*

I really don't answer my comments half as quickly as I should. Oh boy...
I do read all of your comments when I come around these parts (Yes, that includes your 'XDD' and 'Lol!' comments too
), but I really should take less time digesting some of your more comprehensive thoughts and more time just corresponding. I don't feel like clearing my inbox unless I really don't have a response to whatever's in it, so I'll get around to it eventually.

Have you watched Mad Max?

If you haven't, I'd highly recommend it. This movie is just insanely good, emphasis on 'insanely'.
Do it for the guy wearing a red onesie in the Namibian desert, rockin' out on a 60 kilogram double-necked flamethrower guitar, doing 60 miles per hour on a 8 wheeled truck made of amps, trumpet horns and taiko drums.
Did I mention he's wearing his moms face?

There's been some folks who's gone pretty much batshit insane when GW decided to rebrand the Imperial Guard into the Astra Militarum.
Well, I've just gone down to the local store to get myself a copy of the Astra Militarum (You really can't kill 16 years of loyal service to the Emperor that easily, ya know.) and I'm here to lay your concerns to rest.

Forgive the somewhat sub-par photography, but I really didn't want to stretch my brand new book out to stuff it in the scanner. But as you can see, the Imperial Guard still remains, albeit with funky new Gothic (faux-latin) naming conventions. I can dig that.
On a slightly bummed note, I think we just lost some heroes from the regiments that aren't Cadian or Catachan yet again (With the exception of Commissar Yarrick and Nork Deddog, they're far too awesome to leave out.) A damn shame really. We did finally get gud' and proppa plastic Storm Troopers and Ogryns though (after more than 2 decades!), which is mucho nice. ^_^
